For Christmas we gave the grandkids a trip to Disneyland. When we gave them the gift it had an autograph book in it and some treats from Disneyland. We told them we were giveing them a trip to Disneyland and they didn't really get it. They got in the car on the way home and asked Josh if they really got to go to Disneyland. He told them yes that in Febuary they got to go. To a child this seemed like forever away. When the time finaaly came they were thrilled! It was going to be a trip just for me and them and we were going to stay with my wonderful neice Amy. We left my house at 4:00am the morning of the 29th. when we arived in California we had a little trouble renting our car due to a hole punched in my lisence. But finally with the help of some great people at the car rental place we had a great car and were on our way to Disneyland. Being leap day, Disneyland had all kinds of fun things going on. For one, for the first time ever it was going to be opened 24 hours. Tis brought out all the local teenagers. They had a record number of people at the park they had to stop letting people in because it was above capacity. You would think with all these people the lines would be carzy, but not if you were a younger child want ing to go on the kid rides. It worked out great for us. We walked onto every ride with no more than a 10 minute wait. Amy and the kids joined us when Carson got out of school. Carson loves Disneyland so much he had us all so excited for every ride. He goes all of the time and gets so excited every time. He just kept telling us how awsome it was. Amy the kids and I got tired around 8 and were ready to go home. So glad we did, I guess the crwod got a little crazy during the night. But we had a great day!
Doni and her kids drove in that night and the next day we were all off to a great day at Disneyland. There were hardly any crowds at all. They had all been there all night and had gone home. We walked right on all the big rides without much of a wait at all. We had so much fun with all of those little boys, and one big one!
We weren't going to get on the flight the next day due to it being full and us flying stand by. so we stayed with Amy another night and while Doni and amy went to Disneyland the next day we went swimming in 60 degree weather. The boys thought it was summer while everyone who lived there were in winter coats thinking we were strange. We also went to see the Lorax, and loved it. The next day we went to the airport thinking we would fly out that morning. Cami had flown in so we could move up on the standby list and fly home with us. Someone bought 6 tickets an hour before the flight was to leave so we got bumped. We ended up in the airport for 14 hours. I can't believe how good the boys were! We did leave for about an hour when Amy and Doni came and rescued us to go out to eat. I love them! Amy was an amazing hostest the whole trip! I love her and her little family so much! Thank you Amy for a wonderful time!
All in all a great trip, and so much fun to spend some alone time with my grandchildren!
