Joy In The Journey

Yesterday my grandsons and I went for a hike. When we got out of the car to start our journey each boy wanted to hold one of the dogs leashes. They did great except the dogs wanted to run and they were pulling the boys little arms out of socket. I told them I would take the dogs and they could just hike. Zack started to run and wanted to get wherever as fast as he could. Brayden was just strolling along, happy as can be just to explore. At first I wanted to tell him to hurry and catch up. Then I started thinking, what's the hurry. Instead I ask Zack to wait for Brayden, he saw that Brayden was having a ton of fun with a stick just exploring, and he thought that was a great idea. Then we all just took our time and enjoyed the journey. We played in the water, climbed on rocks, played pooh sticks. It was a great day, except I forgot my camera, again. They were so cute and I don't have one picture to keep that memory alive. We will just have to go again and make more memories. I love those little boys and I think I am the most blessed Nana in the world to have had them come into my life! Thanks Cami for sharing them with me!

Changes

We have been really busy this past week. Chase is moving back home and we couldn't be more excited! But with that comes a lot of moving things around. Toph moved upstairs into the spare bedroom, that since Maegan moved out I had put a lot of junk into. Chase moved into Toph's room. Needless to say we have had to get rid of a lot of stuff. I don't really like stuff so I was surprised how much I have accumulated in the past two years since Maegan left. Plus Chase is going from a 4 bedroom 3 bath house to a bedroom. He had a lot of stuff as well. The DI is now our best friend as we make several trips there to get rid of all the stuff! Also with Chase moving back home we get another dog, luckily we all love Cooper, he is a really good dog. I have always said change is good and this is no exception, it is really good to have Chase home!

On a side note Ron, Chase and I went to Sandy last night to watch Zack and Braden play soccer. Can I just say there is nothing cuter than watching little kids play swarm ball. Zack is quite the little runner he is probably the fastest on his team and Bayden just make me laugh. Brayden did score a goal last night which was very exciting.

This is Brayden at the kick off of the game, everyone ran he just stood there looked around then started running. He loves playing soccer!

This is my fast runner Zack. He doesn't know if he loves it yet, but he gets better each week

!!!!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY RON!!!!!

My Birthday Boy
Happy birthday to my hubby, I have to admit that I married the best man in the world. He is so thoughtful and kind, loving and compassionate. He works very hard to provide for our family, he also works very hard at serving our ward(he is spending his birthday do church canning assignment and going to the priest laurel banquet). He is the first one to tell you that communication is the key to success, and that you need a plan in everything you do. He keeps us laughing all the time, and also lets us know that we don't catch half his jokes. I love him and hope he has the best birthday!
This picture makes me laugh, so true they always come to him for money.

My boys just love and look up to him.

He is the best Big Papa, he just loves these boys.

A Message Of Hope

I love conference weekend for lots of reasons, but mostly I love to hear the general authorities speak. I was all prepared this time to hear doom and gloom and get your act together, and thinking I don't want my grandchildren to grow up in this scary time.
Instead I was filled with hope and encouragement. No guilt, just peace that made me want to be a better person. And also an excitement that my grandchildren get to grow up now when there are so many possibilities for them.
I know there are things I need to do to get my house in order, but I feel I am trying to do that and that if I keep working at it, we will be OK. I also felt very blessed to have the Gospel and my knowledge of the atonement to help me when there are trails in my life, for they are sure to come.
My other favorite part of conference weekend is that you get to stay home all weekend! I got so much done and really enjoyed just being home!! And not to mention you get to go to church in your jamies, love it!!

DAN IS A BIRTHDAY BOY!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAN!

We are so happy that Maegan made Dan part of our family. He is so much fun to be with! He treats our little girl like a princess, what parent could ask for more than that. He is a hard worker and very ambitious. I know I will never have to worry about Maegan, he will always take care of her. He has a strong testimony and is always willing to help others. He has a strong since of family, he loves his family and knows how important family is to Maegan as well. He has great parents who have done a wonderful job at raising a fabulous young man. We love you Dan, and very much consider you one of our sons.
He is such a great husband! He's happy to take part in any activity I come up with, especially if there is food involved.
Giving Missy and Toph a pep talk.

Maegan planned a little surprise for Dan at his alumni basketball game. We all went to cheer him on. She made treats for everyone, we sang to him, brought balloons and a sign. I'm sure he was very embarrassed, but he took it like a champ.

THE GIFTS ARE GIVEN

Well I finally finished all of my gifts for my giving post. It was harder than I thought it would be. When I commented on Rachael's post, I thought, hey I like to give people things, so why not. Well when you read the post it says it has to be something made by me just for them. I couldn't very well just make a plate of cookies for everyone and call it good, I had to put some real thought into it so that it could really be just for them. In the end I think I did OK, I sincerely tried to make something that was individual to that person. I hope everyone enjoyed your gifts, I had fun doing it, but I am glad I'm done.

What is it about being told what book to read?

I love to read, I mean really love to read. I can get a book and not want to do one other thing but read. No food for my family, reading at stop lights, you name it I will sacrifice it to read a good book. So this is my question, why when I have to read a book for book club can I just not get into it? It's like I'm back in school and a teacher is telling me what I have to read, so I, out of rebellion, just would not read it. I'm sure that these are great books my friends have picked, but I have yet to get into one that I have wanted to read. I'm going to keep trying, but if I can't find one I like soon, I will just have to go for the fun of being with good friends and stick with reading other things. I didn't even go to book club last night because I was home in my jamies reading a good book.
