What is it about being told what book to read?

I love to read, I mean really love to read. I can get a book and not want to do one other thing but read. No food for my family, reading at stop lights, you name it I will sacrifice it to read a good book. So this is my question, why when I have to read a book for book club can I just not get into it? It's like I'm back in school and a teacher is telling me what I have to read, so I, out of rebellion, just would not read it. I'm sure that these are great books my friends have picked, but I have yet to get into one that I have wanted to read. I'm going to keep trying, but if I can't find one I like soon, I will just have to go for the fun of being with good friends and stick with reading other things. I didn't even go to book club last night because I was home in my jamies reading a good book.

ZACKERY

My grandson Zackery won an award at school yesterday for being cooperative. I was so proud of him and he was so excited!. He didn't know he had won and he didn't know Cami and I were going to be there. His face was priceless when he saw us. He was very excited when he realized he must be getting the award. He is such a good little boy. When we pulled up at the school he was outside at recess, it was fun to see him playing with his friends.

After the assembly they had refreshments for the kids and guest while all the other students went back to class, he loved this. We went to his class and took him out him out of school early, you know at this age they love their Mom to come to school, so that was fun.

I had told Brayden a while back that for my birthday we could go to Chuck E Cheese. Well once the birthday had come and gone he wanted to know when we were going. This was a perfect chance for us to go. They had so much fun and got a ton of tickets so they both came home with a gumball machine for their prize tickets. It was such a fun day to just spend it with Cami and the boys. I love being a Grandma or in my case a Nana!!!!

Excited and Challenged

I have been wanting one of these for a while now, so yesterday I went a bought one for my birthday. I told my sister I must be getting old because I was so excited about getting this. I have already started to grind my wheat and today I'm making bread!!

On a side note Ron said I couldn't make cookies in 12 minutes, I took it as a challenge set the timer, I four times the recipe and came in under 12 minutes. So you really can't use the excuse you don't have time to make homemade cookies, it doesn't take much time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

I'm 46 today!!!

I had a hard time finding a picture of me by myself. I don't love my picture taken. So here is one Ron took of me at Maegan's wedding. I do love birthdays!! I get to do whatever I want on my birthday. A couple of years ago I layed out(no hope of that this year) read a book and ate chocolate, three of my very favorite things. Today I have a funeral to go to, which I'm OK with I really liked the gentlemen who's funeral I'm going to. I even have already cleaned out my fridge, you may not think that a very fun birthday activity, but I never have time to do it so today I can do whatever I want and that's what I wanted to do. I never have been bothered by age, I feel great can do everything I want to so what does it matter, life is great!!

MAEGAN IS "21"!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAEGAN! My little girl is all grown up. She has grown into the most beautiful woman. I am so proud of her! She is smart, creative, kind, funny, a great cook, and one of my best friends. She has always been a joy to be around, even as a little girl and sick all of the time. Because of her health she was home a lot so we spent a lot of time together, and I loved it!! Dan is the luckiest man in the world to have such an incredible person like Maegan to spend forever with. I love you Missy and I am so glad you are my little girl!!! A great wife and has grown into a beautiful woman

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMI!! I was never so happy as when Josh told me he was going to marry Cami! She is so wonderful for him. I really could not have picked anyone better. She is so much fun to be with, she fits in perfectly with my girls. She loves to shop, cook and go to lunch, three of our favorite things. She really is the best cook, she makes wonderful dinners and deserts and even makes her own bread. She is beautiful inside and out. She is a great Mom, her boys are a testiment to that, they are so well behaved and polite. We just love her!!

What a cute family they are!She is the best wife, Josh is so very lucky and blessed to have her!
